    URSA NorCal Match Update

We had 9 shooters today and 3 observers show up.

Apollo hit the 2054 yard gong with a short barreled semi auto in 308 Winchester!!!

In the first match of the day Ken Eng won the match with 5 hits and he only had 9 rounds of ammo so he got no practice and he still beat yours truly for the win.
Ken built his own rail and was aiming well below the gong as it had too much slope for 2054 yards.
Despite everything Ken Eng shooting his 510 DTC EDM is our King of 2054 Yards.

We started shooting at 7:30 AM and stopped around 2:30 PM.
With that much time to shoot the competitors wanted to hold a second match.
We lined everyone up and when the lights quit flashing first time Shooter Komishe Kan shooting a SkunkWorks 338 Lapua took home the win with 4 hits making him The King of 2054 Yards for our second match.

We had Shakey Ken Mike Bob and Skkeeter all shooting 50 Caliber rifles today and the gong had plenty of hits on it.
    Pictures on there way.

Thanks to all there. My son Michael and I had a great time and look forward to the next one. Even if Michael got more hits than I did.

Thanks to Lynn for the extra help he took spotting to help Ken get on target too. How many times does a shooter come with to much rail for 2,000+ yards?

Bob that was definitely a first. Most come to the match a few mils short but Ken showing up with 5 mils too much was a real surprise.

Nice meeting you and your son. He is going to be a real good Shooter. I like the way he shoots and shoot in a similar fashion to myself. I don't let any dust settle on my rifle before the next round is headed downrange.

With four 50s on the line, the match was a blast - literally.

It was good times again this weekend even though my gun and ammo were not working well for me. Ken put on an impressive shooting display with his big 50, winning the first record round with zero sighters and only nine rounds total. Skeeter brought out a few of his very nice custom rifles. Apollo did what we all thought was impossible by getting a hit with a 20" LR308. Here's one pic from the firing line.

Speaking of blast... I think I pulled a half bale of hay out of my action. I guess I'll have to invest in some kind of chamber flag and a brass catcher so I don't pelt Shakey next time.

I vote that Shakey gets to make all the shooting positions flat. He broke out his trusty shovel and had his shooting lane absolutely perfect in no time at all. And he is tall and was shooting a very long 50 caliber rifle to boot.
Shakey when your using military ball bullets in a 50 BMG they shoot around 2 moa.
If you want consistency get a load from Bob or Ken and your hits will be more consistent.

It is going to take 42 mils to get on target but the load proved surprisingly accurate.

Well I certainly was not hitting the target, so I need to make myself useful somehow. I've got better components on the way.

And he shoots where the real shooters do, down on the ground!

I guess that's what I get for having horrible handwriting
Big thank you to LynnJr for helping organize and set up.
What a great group of guys to spend a Sunday shooting with.

A tip of the hat to Ken for the win and Apollo for beating the odds with the .308.

In his defense, my writing is pretty much illegible rubbish.

Is that the .308 hit near dead center coming in dead sideways? Kinda looks like the mark your .260 left @ 1600.......

Very possible. I wonder if Lynn and company searched for projectiles under the target?
