Very nice! I've always wanted one of the .30-40 Model 95 carbines. I also like the Krag carbines. Very Teddy Roosevelt-ish.

Your very welcome sir, yes I do reload for it. But often I will use Winchester factory 180 gr. for hunting. I have another 30-40 Krag and almost exclusively reload for it and almost never shoot factory ammo in it

I understand the original military load was 220 gr round nose FMJ at 2000 FPS. Do you duplicate this or have you worked up something different?

I think that the barrel is original to the rifle. So I do not believe it to be a cut down.

Thanks! The forearm looks like Sporting Rifle forearm instead of a Carbine version. I am still learning about the 1895s, but mine is also a Carbine length barrel with a Sporting Rifle forearm. I am waiting for my Cody letter to see if mine came that way originally.

Interesting. Maybe the forearm was changed out at some point?
