browning bl 22lr 20" deluxe

hi" I thought I would ask Calgunners community for some help, I am looking to purchase a 22LR rifle and was looking at the Browning bl 22lr 20" deluxe model made in 1976 (japan) price $495

is this a fair price?

any help would on this model or others would be appreciated.

What grade is it>? Condition? Have a link or is it local to you?

You should post that in the rimfire forum. I don't think most are familiar with rimfire bolts. To me, anything under $500 for a rifle seems like a steal.

Looking on GB that looks like the asking price on a lot of them. Seen a nice looking grade 1 for $399 zero bidders.

A couple of things about this rifle: If you plan to clean it, get detailed disassembly instructions before you do. Reassembling the ejector, spring and breechblock is a little tricky and requires patience.

The action on mine has always been very smooth, but the trigger is (by my standards) a little stiff. I guess I should also mention that, while very pleasing to the eye and a fun shooter, mine has never been a very accurate rifle.

Current Blue Book, 36th edition lists Grade I: uncheckered stock/forearm @ $450 in 100% condition.

Grade II: scroll engraving on blue receiver/ high gloss checkered stock and forearm @ $550 in 100% condition.

Don't buy it as an investment, they are great shooters.
Condition is everything when haggling on price.

Yeah I think that's it. It didn't sell and they relisted it. When I seen it, it only had 20 or so minutes left.

$350 tops... "Great" condition is not used to grade a firearm. It's a Grade I, nothing deluxe about it. Post #8 shows a Grade II. I have one also.

Probably why it didn't sell then I was just pointing out what people are asking for them on GB. Prices are all over the place in the $400 to $500 range give or take a little no matter if it grade I or grade II.

My guess is a great condition Grade I would probably be worth more than a poor condition deluxe, but that's a different type of grading
