I was having some problems stripping rounds out of the magazine and loading them in on my Tikka T3 300 Win mag. I have the CDI bottom metal system.
I took the AI / Accurate Mag and compared it to the Tikka polymer mag. The AI / Accurate mags hold the round for a much longer time along the lips, which causes my rounds to bind as they would not pop up and line up with the bore. This seems to only affect long rounds as my 308 feeds fine.
I took the mags apart and machined / filed the lips back about 30% to be the same as the Tikka factory polymer mag. Rounds are now popping out a little early to line up with the bore and feeding is perfect.
Hope this helps anyone with a CDI bottom metal and extremely long rounds.
Also beveled the front lip of the follower so it won't catch on the receiver opening.
