Since we're now talking about scopes, here's what I did two weeks ago with a "budget" Redfield Revolution riflescope, mounted on a Ruger American Rifle and an aluminum 20 MOA "budget" Picatinny mount.

900 yards? 1/2 MOA? With a "cheap" Ruger American Rifle? By a first-timer to distance shooting and having to learn to read the wind, etc.? With factory ammo? YES! It is possible for a $300...

The moral: "budget" does not necessarily have to equal "poor quality" You don't need to spend big bucks to get a good scope, or a good rifle.

Again, OP, if your scope is working for you, then you might as well leave it as it is. "If it ain't broke, no need to fix it." Doesn't mean you "can't" "fix" it if you just want to; rather, it means you don't need to. Big difference.

To be a true Liberal, you must be 100% pro-Second Amendment. Anything less is inconsistent with liberalism.

Just to give my .02. I've got just under a hundred rounds through the American in 30-06 and I wouldn't exactly call it a fun range gun, ammo is expensive (I dont reload), recoil is noticeable heavy, no threaded muzzle for a brake. Things I wish the rifle included, a threaded muzzle but the profile may be a little thin for that. Great lightweight rifle and meant for exactly what they sell it for.. taken a couple of shots at game and going back into the safe after. Great budget hunter past that I would opt for a rifle with a threaded muzzle if its lightweight in a large cartridge.
