URSA NorCal Match Update For 6/20

    Shooters
Is there anyone coming to the 6/20 2000 yard match who hasn't been to the location before?

I ask because we would like to get onto qualifying at an earlier time. We usually start firing at 9:00 AM and qualify around noon. The actual match is over pretty quickly and we shoot until people don't want to shoot or run out of ammo.

I would like to shoot the 2000 yard leg then move up the road to the 2500 yard location.
Please let me know what you guys/gals want to do.

Wish I had my base especially sense Saturdays are a better day for me. I finally got the money but called to late today to order my MOAB. Tomorrow I will order it.

When will the next one be so I can get it on my calendar? Guess my Prius won't make it up the hill but I should be able to make it in a two wheel drive truck or will I need to bum a ride?

That's a great offer but the 20 odd rounds I have left over from my last match won't get to far. Besides, one of the guys I work with is already off Saturday. I will pass this time and get mine and mill my rail for the 300moa screw. Thank you though.

            Bob
I would try Skeeter's out before you plop down $400 and find out you don't like it.
There were several shooters there who didn't like mine. I have no issues with it but that's me.
After Saturday is over they are going to cut my throat so probably a couple months before we hold a formal match but everyone is welcome up on the mountain any time.
I am reloading right now but what I will do is send you my base and you can run it through its pacea on your rifle for a couple months.
Ask anybody I don't worry about scratches and nicks because all of my gear gets used or I don't need it.

            Skeeter
Yes let's get them there earlier.

I tend to like my scopes on the high side so I don't think there will be an issue. Worst-case I use it for ELR and take it off at other times.

A couple of months will give me time to work up better load. I have been using Amax's over 222.0gr of H50BMG which gives me about 2400fps from my stock AR50. Works fine for 1,000 yards but I may need to bump it up some for 2,000+ yards.

                Bob
I was using 218 grains of H5010 and getting good accuracy.
I switched to a 800 grain Lapua because I can get them for $30 for 20 bullets instead of the usual $80. I used CCI and Russian primers with 235 grains of US869 and it shot poorly.
The standby load is a RWS primer and 250+- 5 grains of VV20N29 and a 800 grain bullet.
Here is a picture of the Flatbase bullets I am using Saturday.

I'd be there but I don't like shooting at anything less that 3,800 yards myself.

Come to SoCal and we can accommodate you. Lynn's range is okay for learners as it also has some elevation benefit. He has created a nice bunny slope for UR shooters, but SoCal is where the best UR shooting takes place. Raton is also a formidable location for real shooters.
