    Loading too many ammo?

I just got a Rossi 357 mag lever rifle 24 in. barrel. The description says the rifle can take 12+1 357 mag ammo. However, I was able to fit 14+1. Will I damage the spring like that?

Other than just loading it up to see what it holds, would you ever load that many rounds?

Well, if I could do so without hurting the gun, why not?

Not going to damage the spring, but I'd start wondering about bullet setback.

Wouldn't do it if I were you.

If the manufacturer tells you to load 12, I would stick with that.

It depends on the overall length of the rounds that you are loading. If you load 38 special wadcutters, you could probably get 16 or 18 of them in there.
