Yugo M48 Gun Lock

Just jailed a Yugo M48 at my local Big 5. I am not sure if it's an issue but it doesn't come with ca approved gun lock, I have to purchase one. The issue is the locks they have available will not work with the M48 because there is no way to lock it with with the standard 15 inch cable lock. If I purchase the lock to fulfill the requirement even though it's totally useless, could I get in trouble? Are there any full bore gun locks that are ca approved?

Just remove the magazine floor plate and open the bolt, then run the cable lock through the magazine.

Or buy a safe & fill out the safe affidavit (unless you pass through a school zone, in which case your long gun will need to be locked).
