Win. model 70 .243 pre 64' or post 64' barrel

Can anyone here tell me how I can indentify a barrel I have. I don't know how to tell if it is a pre or post 64' barrel in .243 . Any help here would be nice, I only have the barrel in good condition. Thanks in advance !

If there is a serial number on the barrel above 700,000 it is post 64 but a picture of the chamber end would help.

Pre-64 model 70 has an external claw extractor like the bottom bolt:



The breech of the barrel will be cut to clear the extractor like the one on the right:

OP, just for clarification, are you thinking that you have a pre-64 winchester model 70 that was rebarreled sometime after 1964?

If it were rebarreled sometime after 1964, the breech end would still be cut out for the extractor.

Thank to all for the above info. , this is a big help. It is clear to me that my barrel if a post 64' . Guess I will mark it and store it for possible future use/project.
