Anyone own one? Been shooting long range with my Tikka T3 .308 and I think this would be a nice riffle to add. Heavy barrel nice stock. Anyone own the Sporter model?

I've got one in .260 Remington. It shoots an honest 0.5 MOA with handloads, before any serious load development. The trigger adjusts down to about 2 1/4 pounds with no creep, and it might go lower. The stock adjusts easily and securely. The action is very smooth, it feeds reliably, and the plastic magazines are holding up well.

It is heavy, but the well-fitting stock makes it easy to handle. Recoil with the .260 is minimal. Carrying it any distance is a matter for the individual.

This is an excellent out-of-the-box shooter, in my opinion, if the stock works for you.

A slightly lighter alternative would be a T3 CTR (.260 or .308) in an MDT LSS chassis. This alternative upgrades you to AICS magazines. With the right stock, this can also be a very useable bolt action rifle. I put a fairly heavy XLR on mine, but I think I might be a pimp, so a non-pimp could save weight with a lighter stock.

Thanks, I have the T3 lite I just wanted a good bench gun. I went a head and bought it. Got a decent price on a .308 24in barrel.

Paint it! I kind of like it because it's different.

After owning my T3 for a few years I know you just can't go wrong with tika. I've been using it for 700 yard steel. Such a smooth bolt and so accurate.

Define "cost effective".
When you rebarrel a rifle with a higher quality barrel than a factory barrel, you end up with a superior quality rifle.

If you are looking for "cheaper", a factory built gun is almost always cheaper than a custom gun.
A custom gun is almost always better quality than a factory gun though.

to get rifle re-barreled, will you get barrel, or I have to find it my self? How difficult to re-barrel for you?

I don't deal in parts so you would need to obtain the barrel blank before you come over.
It's no more difficult to rebarel a Tikka than a 700.
It's typically 3 hours.
