    Tikka T3 Availability?

What's the story on the availability of Tikka T3 models? I'm considering one in .308.

Looking over the Tikka site is like a giant tease.

A quick scan through Gunwatcher and most vendor sites turns up:
    • Over 80% of the listings are Lites in various chamberings.
    • Interspersed with them are a few Compacts.
    • After Lites, Hunters seem to be the next most common
    • There are a few Forests out there.
    • If you can find a Varmint at all, they seem to be available only in .22-250, .223 Remington, or .204 Ruger.
    • Super Varmints are non-existent unless used.
    • CTRs and Tacticals seem to be around, but not nearly as common as the others.

Is Beretta deliberately throttling the importation of the Varmints to push people toward the CTR and Tacticals?

I just bought one in stainless and 7mm mag. Sportsman's warehouse in chico ca had over 20 of them in stock. I will tell you this. They are a sweet rifle. I am by no means a good shot and hit .6 inch 3 shot group at 100 right out of the box. With a leupold v3 50mm reticle it weighed in just under 7 pounds.

Which one are you specifically looking for? I'm not reading so good tonight.

I was most interested in the Varmint in .308. Secondarily, a CTR in .308, but I was hoping to go less expensive.

^ yep! Mine shoots 1 moa until I get tired, which don't take long. The right guy could likely do a lot better with my gun, it's very accurate! I got mine from Cabelas in Nevada. I wanted it for hunting with a camo stock.

Yeah I was eyeballing the varmint too. I actually have no clue what I'm doing, I keep getting drawn back to Tikka.

I saw one hanging on the wall at Parallax Tactical a few months ago, not sure if it is still there. San Diego might be a little far though. I think it is a Lite model, wood stock. Looks like a great hunting gun.

I guess I was lucky. I got mine from Oak Tree 3 month ago. Dhe is Hunter in 7mm Rem Mag. Shooting about 2.5 MOA ( not sure if it is her or me). Scope is SWFA 12x fixed. Amazing gun!

Tikkas shoot. I had one, a T3 lite 7-08 with a zeiss conquest scope, I zeroed the scope with cheap winchester silver box 140 gr. about a 1.5 inch group at 100 yards. I never touched a scope turret for four years, I could put any 120gr or 140 gr factory ammo in it and it would make a kill shot at 200 yards four years after I zeroed that scope. I sold it never touching a turret for four years, when someone gifted me a Vanguard s2 which I like better.

Eurooptic.com has a BUNCH of T3 series rifles right now. They have a lot of CTR rifles, and better yet, the Sporter series which is an amazing rifle right out of the box, but I would venture to say that most people don't even know about it. I'm looking at one in .308 next for a solid rifle to shoot bench and prone with.

I have been looking all over for a super varmit in .308 forever. Barretta USA is the distributor and apparently, they don't import this model into the US. I think the main models coming into the US are only the Hunter, Sporter and Lite.

This is exactly how I want one setup

Go to any Berretta dealer and they can order any of the models for you if they are not in stock. I did this as I needed a left handed model. Got a stainless one in 30-06.

I tried a few years back, I had a gun shop try to special order me one on the US site, it didn't even show up. It did however show up on the main Tikka Finland site.
