Been looking for this 1 FOREVER

And here she is "Henry BIG BOY" in 357. I put smudges on while drooling over it.

Can't go far wrong with a 357 lever carbine. Enjoy the crap out of it.
weg: That device is obsolete now. They replaced it with wizards.
frank: Wait a minute. There are more than one wizard? Is [are?] the wizard calibrated?

Nice, I like the big loop lever, the the caliber and absolutely love the made in America factor.

interesting, no loading gate but it appears to load through the tube.

if that's the case I wonder if it would be safe, considering it is centerfire, if you could make "tube speed loaders" (for fun of course, not for actual defense.) out of clear plastic cylinders/thin tubes that had your rounds all lined up and the correct number ready to drop in.
I've seen something like that made with (regular diameter sized but long) straws for .22 caliber rimfire tube loading rifles.

Congratulations on your gun. Mine shoots best with my 180 g XTP with 10.8 g 2400. With my poor eyesight I had to put a scope on it. For fun, I did make a speed loader out of brass tubing for it . (1/2" x 17" capped with a cane tip)

            ^^ Thanks Spyder,
I had forgotten that the idea might have originally come from the Spencer rifles....

but me personally I have only seen them used with .22 caliber Marlin rifles. (just a long 7/11store straw with small soft cork "cap" in the loading end and cork and electrical tape sealing off the other end.)
and it was always used just for fun.

it's not a new concept of course, man has always been trying to speed up the loading process.

Congratulations! It's such a beautiful firearm that you don't want to shoot it and just want to put it into a shadow box hanging over the fireplace mantle.

Come to think of it . . . Henry does indeed sell an appropriate sized shadow box so that you can display this work of art for all to admire.

Picked up one of those about two weeks ago. It's accurate as all get out, absolutely zero kick, and a 'show stopper'. I've taken it to the range twice and could hardly get a chance to shoot it because everybody kept coming up to look at it and admire it.

Haven't put any .357 rounds down the pipe yet, since I can't find any locally. Finally picked some up last weekend at the OC gun show and will try it out this Friday.

              ---

When loading, I tip the rifle just enough for the rounds to slide down the feed tube gently. I don't expect you'd want to do it like in the movies where they rest the butt plate on their shoe and 'drop' the rounds in, letting gravity take them to the bottom.

The .38 Special rounds I've used so far have flat noses, so I wasn't too worried about a primer detonating unexpectedly.

Just traded my 30-06 for a .357 Big Boy today. Now the 10 day wait.

                    Anybody need some 30-06 rounds?

Nice find there, OP. You'll enjoy shooting it!
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!
