    Howa 1500 .223 ammo

For you Howa 1500 owners in 223 that have shot groups at 100 yards, what factory ammo has been sub-moa for you?

I think all Howa 223s are 1-in-12 twist barrel. I used to use PMC 55gr bronze and American Eagle but quickly realized that it defeats the purpose of having a bolt gun if you use bulk ammo to try to shoot groups. Mainly its frustrating because you never know whether its your mechanics or the ammo that's causing the spread.

Gonna try Fiocchi 40gr Vmax based on this post I found which really shows what a difference ammo may make:

Took my 223 bolt gun to the range last week. shots a variety of stuff. the top group is American eagle xm193c 55 grain fmj. the bottom group is 40 grain vmax from Fiocchi. the bottom group is a total of 14 rounds. I shot the bottom group without adjusting my zero so naturally that group was...

If any of you have a particular round that works well specifically in your Howas, let me know.
my setup - 24 inch heavy barrel varminter; b&c stock; timney trigger; sightron S3 10-50x60
Best group 1.3 or so inches with bulk ammo; average about 2-2.5 inch.

You can shoot 55gr with a long 12 twist. Maybe heavier, but 55 is basically made for your barrel.
