Thoughts on Lothar-Walther Barrels

Anyone have experience with these?

Excellent barrels. I have had several on rifles and since about 2010 all of the Desert Tech (aka DTA) barrels come from LW.

What brando said. They are really good. I have a 308 barrel that came with my AI and it shoots lights out.

They are very good. Though, AI switched from Lothar Walther to Bartlein when they went from their MKII to MKIII series. For any decent quality barrel, what will matter is the care in which they are finished. A good gunsmith that takes the effort to cut a good concentric and well-dimensioned chamber will beat out the mass produced assembly line production types.

My AR has a LW barrel on it. Most excellent! Sub-1/2" 5-shot groups out of a skinny pencil barrel
