5R?

Please help a rookie.

How do I know which Remington 700 come with this 5R milspec barrel?

There is a ton of models on their site and I have yet to find the terms 5R or milspec. What am I missing?

I am a total newb to bolt action, don't know squat, and the search turned up zero.

Remington model number 29663. It's not on the website, places can order it. Look up remington 29663 on google and you'll see what I mean.

As popular one would think those models should be, it is weird that Remington doesn't bother listing them on their website.

I believe that the "5R Milspec" is only produced for ONE distributor who holds the exclusive distribution agreement with Remington.
That makes it a special "non cataloged" model.
If it was a standard production item, then it would be cataloged and listed on the website for all distributors to order it.

Thanks for the replies everybody. There is a guy in the marketplace looking to trade one for an over / under shotgun. I am thinking of offering up my Browning.

I don't really have the dough to add a quality scope right now though.
