Well, if a good size fireball is the goal (which is the case when I shoot my AR Pistol) then I don't think it's silly at all I tried two different types of ammo, the one in the pictures, and another type that produced almost none. I'll let you know the details of both later when I get home.

The ammo used in the above pics with my AR pistol was my personal reloads of H335 and a 55gr Hornady FMJ which are pretty much just above a mid-range load. I get noticeable fireballs with that gun even shooting Tula though

Just remembered to check and the ammo that I was using for the big fireballs was:
Federal XM193F
5.56 M193 Ball - 55 grain ammo

I've also tried:
PMC X-Tac
5.56 Nato 62 grain green tip and it gave almost no fire at all...so I won't be using that again
