    M92 PAP

Did the wood with an old Japanese technique called shou sugi ban. You burn the wood, which helps to protect and preserve the wood from rot and decay. Gives it a dark almost black finish and also brings out the grain. Gonna seal it with a poly no shine. Dipped it in water already and no change in color. I love it. Gonna shoot it this weekend. Waiting for the MI rail to come in. So far has the Mako grip, CNC sling adapter, Magpul MS3 sling. I need of the Manticore Arms Nightbrake. Patiently waiting for that thing to be done. Come on Sven! LOL!

    Thanks for looking!

I like it, what did you use to burn it with?

I would also appreciate a write up on how you did it with pics after the poly. Thanks for sharing.

I used a torch to burn it and did about 3 passes. After every pass you must brush the ash off, sort of like sanding it down. After every pass I also dipped it in water, then I brushed it with a wire brush. The lower handguard retainer was a tight squeeze to get back onto the wood, but with a few love taps, it was able to get back on. Also, I filed down the notch where the lower handguard lever sat as it would not go back to the lock position. I almost bent and broke off the lever. SMH.

I'll take a pic when I have rubbed in the poly. I don't really want a shine to it. I like the rough look. You really don't even need to seal it as it is good that way it is and will not rot or decay.

Thanks everyone for looking and liking it. I wanted something different and not like everyother AK you see on here with the red or blonde. What can I say, I love brunettes. Her name is Natalia!

                          Thanks man!

Took it out this past weekend and it went well. This thing is awesome to shoot! The handguards did its job and didn't heat up or did it leave any marks on my hands. I think I'm gonna leave it as is and wait till the MI rail gets in. Thanks again! Calguns is the best!!
