4" GSE kit seem to be the answer

make sure to test, test ,test

because barrel length may effect how it cycles
just like when we use the normal buffer tube sometimes you have to change to a heavier buffer, not sure if that short tube uses a buffer

thordson cheek rest is the way to go forget the arm braces

That pistol buffer is nearly identical to the NEA CCS setup, which is very reliable. The buffer is built into the carrier, but should contain the same ability to "open" it and change the weights if it was REALLY necessary (though likely not).

The NEA CCS is actually what I have on the way, and I'm going to install it without the stock until the Form 1 is complete, so will basically work the same as his pistol buffer until then.

GSE (Ed) said the Kit with bolt and NEW stiffer spring is better.
the new bolt is NOT notched for the forward assist. I would not consider using the forward assist if the gun is malfunctioning or for any reason.

He said it has very specific instruction to install and how many threads to allow
Said this Kits has been made for a couple years, did not find any bad reviews google searching
the original short tube has been made for 20 years, couple post said that spring was a little weak. (post from 2010-2012)

I was looking into the Thordsen buffer tube cheek rest. My FFL said "do not".
It would now be considered a SBR and a felony for having a illegal firearm. I see a lot of posted pistols with Thordsen cheek rest, what am I missing.

********* I kept searching and found another thread about said cheek rest*******
now what keep poking the sleeping bear? I really do not care for the Sig Brace. I did find a used 16" LMT with a cheek rest, not shouldering it but next to my face and against my cheek. felt like a natural position to shoot.

Your FFL is a smart man. I bet he almost passed his IQ test.

Thordsen is perfectly legal as a cheek rest for an ar pistol. Notice from AFT is on thordsens website.

You're missing that FFL'S tend to know less than even new calgunners about the laws in this state.

no matter what the ar pistol needs the buffer tube
weather or not you use the foam pad, thordson or arm brace its a part thats needed to make it function

what I would stay away from is adding any tube to a weapon that does not need it to function, like ak pistols

because then they could just say adding the tube is now a stock

switch to an FFL that actually knows what he is talking about.

Updated mine. I have the NEA CCS installed. My old NIB bolt went into the custom carrier/buffer that goes with this recoil system, and added the V7 cam pin. Form 1 was submitted a while back. Cheek weld is quite nice on this setup! Relocated where the scope is mounted to compensate for the short length. I'd like to get the block on the back Cerakoted the same color as the upper/lower/rail soon.
