I don't think "doves" qualify as pimp material.

I wanted to take my wife to a defensive handgun class. Her condition to go was she had to have a "pretty gun" like mine (she likes my 1911's, but hates glocks) in 9mm (45 acp is a bit rough for her). So I bought a Rock Island 38 super and a bunch of Wilson and Fusion parts and made a super sweet 9mm. She further defined "pretty" and I went to work with a graver, did a little engine turning, added some gold leaf and duracoat, and ended up with a pimped gun. enjoy

I think that's cool that you would do that for your wife. Can you post some details on the 9mm conversion?

          9mm conversion

The conversion was part of the buildup. I bought a Rock Island Armory 1911 in 38 super just so that I could use the frame. The feed angle on the 38 super is the same as for 9mm. I used a Fusion Firearms 9mm slide and match grade barrel. Then Wilson Combat trigger control parts, weighted guide rod, 9mm extractor, and grip safety. Added a 10-8 rear sight and a fiber optic front and the gun is a really sweet shooter. It won't run metalform mags reliably, but It loves cobra mags. I haven't tried the new 9mm ETMs from Wilson, but I think I will pick up a few and see how they do.

1903 Colt 32cal Pocket Pistol with ivory grips. It does not get anymore old school pimp than that!

that is a nice classic! of course it reminds me of my browning inspired, Norinco tokarev 213 B

. for a 'throw away' type pistol, it handled well, shot well, and the slide release of the 'hairpin' type, making it very fast with reloading! the machining inside the pistol was something of a burden, with sharp edges and rough interior making it difficult to clean. but it worked so well i almost never had to clean it anyways. one of the cheapest yet most reliable pistols ive used

Thanks! I wont be using that one for a "throw down!" My grandfather carried it when he was a detective on the LAPD in the 30's. I think it was this same pistol that he killed a robber with after he retired. Either this one or his other 1903.

oh, well that automatically increases its bad-*** factor by at least 7 or 8

Thats no pimp gun, that is just a sweet gun. Pimps cant afford that kind of quality they are spending their money on crack.
