No, I am in America. An importer here recently brought in these retired Swiss police pistols. I like them because they probably weren't shot as much as retired American police guns. More importantly, they were built in Germany and maintained by the Swiss. How much more can one possibly ask for in a mechanical tool?

The P225 actually says "Montage Suisse" on the slide. I did some research and supposedly that one was assembled in Switzerland sometime around early 1980.

The P226 and the P228 were made in Germany in 1998 and 1997, respectively.

Do you recognize those crests on the slides? Can you tell me what they mean?

"Montage Suisse" is excellent. That means that all parts were made and assembled in switzerland. I don't think there is any higher standard for engineering and metal production than we do it (no offense just take a look at swiss watches and of course the P210 )

the crests specify in with canton the gun was used (you know, switzerland is divided in little parts like the USA. it's different but http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Switzerland#Cantons explains it best)

                    the guns were used at:

                    P228: canton Lucerne http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canton_of_Lucerne
                    P226: canton Thurgau http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thurgau
                    P225: canton Zurich http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canton_of_Z%C3%BCrich

I hope that serves you as you wanted it

This is a great posting since I think SIG Sauer pistols are excellent. Many impressive SIGs on this thread.

Here are photos of my two. Only two for now.

I finally get to post in this thread....though I get the impression from some sig owners that the pro isn't a real sig
