Very cool. Just sent off my slide to get it refinished. Already twitchy to get it back. Seeing how cool yours turned out is not helping.

Thanks every one for the kind words.

I did detail strip the slide and painted all the little parts individually, except the trigger, not sure how to remove the actual trigger plastic part from the rest of it. The paint gun I used is a detail gun (automotive type) I did this in a couple of days, because I messed up a whole bunch. The color is "Tactical Coyote Brown" from Duracoat, here is the link http://www.lauerweaponry.com/index.c...ategory_id=796 I didn't get the reducer or anything else, just what the least expensive kit come with, paint and hardner mix, which you use tea and table spoons.

The only problem I'm having is that slide sometimes doesn't go all the way forward, the barrel needs a hair or two to come up all the way, I think it might be the extractor, I painted the top and bottom sides too, I think I might need to clean the off and see what happens.

Here are some pics, as you can see I didn't get a good even coat on the rear of the slide, there's a chunk missing already, just noticed now when I took the pictures. I think in the near future I'll give it another coating.

Oh, and my new night sights, Ameriglo Operators (they say Trijicon on both front and back), front green with white outline and rear yellow with no outline.

You can see under the rail that I didn't get a good coat, hopefully others learn from my mistakes.

Has anybody ever tried the Aerosol Cans? I think you can just use it like a regular ol spray can and then baked in oven and its done. Sounds simple but just wondering if anybody has used it with good results?
            Sorry to threadjack!
