My Draco... My first Pistol

So I told the Wife this year I have one goal...
I will buy at least one Pistol

So I saw that Tracy Rifle and Pistol had Draco's in stock and I've always wanted a short barreled AK, but knew that was pretty much impossible in PRK. So I decided to purchase a Draco. Plus it would fit nicely with my Romanian Collection

Everyone at Tracy Rifle and Pistol were awesome. They were friendly and very helpful. PolishMike even answered every PM I sent to him with questions. Basicly their customer service skills were top notch in my opinion. The store was laid out well and everything was displayed perfectly. Sorry guys for drooling all over your counters...LOL

So I waited the horrible 10 days to pick up my new pistol. while I waited I startd to ask question and find out what I could about these Pistols.
Krinkov to Draco Thread

After my 10 days was over and my baby was out of jail I got to work to make her beautiful again... LOL... Well about as beautiful as Civilian Romanian AK can be I guess.
Here's what she looked like when I got her home

The wood was in pretty good shape compared to most Romanian AK's. So I was kinda worried about messing with it, but it needed some kind of finish to it. So I took the wood off and started the bleaching process.
After a light sanding, 4 hours of soaking them, and a day of drying (It was hot here so a day did the job) Here's what it looked like...




Then it was time to start the staining process
Instead of going the true more accurate way of staining and coloring the wood, I decided to use the same stain wood sealer I used on my WASR10 and AES10b...

Oh yeah BTW wear a mask or something when you use the Vinegar Mix to neutralize the bleach....

After 3 coats of Stain/Wood Sealer here's what they looked this



So while I was waiting for the bleached wood to dry and sealer and all that My Flash Hider or Booster or what ever you want to call it. I had settled on the Bell shaped Krinkov Flash Hider
It came with the 14mm to 24mm adapter. So everything fit perfectly


Then once the wood stain was all finished it was time to put her all together again...

Tomorrow I'll be taking her out for her first Range Trip, So I'll post a Range Report after that, but for now the Pictures will have to do.
All In All, I'm pleased with the outcome so far
But there are still a few things I want to get

- 2 point sling
- rear mounting point for the sling...
- maybe a few more 10/30 mags too

I've shot 357, 44, 45, 40, 9mm, 22's and several other handgun's before.... This is just the first "Pistol" I've owned. The Time was right, the price was perfect, SO how could I say no... LOL...

Now I just gotta save money so when the next time is right I can get me a 1911

Glad to hear you like it.

For some reason this batch of dracos came with that mag lock. Bring it by the shop and ill swap it out for a solar tactical.
