    New Sig owner

Well I found a great deal on a P225 (not the P6) with Nill grips and trigger job and 4 mags. This is my first Sig and I can't wait to shoot it. It has KA date code so made in 1990. Here's some pic's from my camera phone.

    Thanks again JMB1911!!!

Forgive my ignorance but because im turning 21 in less than 2 months and a Sig is currently in my sights for a first handgun....what exactly is the difference between a P225 and a P6? I thought its the same thing. Is the P6 the designation for "Made in Germany" while a P225 is home grown?

BTW those Nill grips are sweet!

Both are German. P6 has the Euro heel mag release and are generally police trade-ins.

My P6 has the normal mag release, not the heel. It is a German police trade-in with a born-on date of 1979.

Older German made P220s are the only Sigs I've seen with that heel mag release. There may be other models with that feature, but the P6 isn't one of them, AFAIK.

Congrats to the OP! Sweet looking P225! I notice different grip screws in one of the pics - were those your addition or before the seller let it go?

Yea that was one of the pic's the original owner had, I guess he may have switched them out at some point.
