Didn't want any more oddball calibers, but found this 1911 in 9x23.

So I picked up this Springfield Armory 1911-A1 in 9x23. Looks brand new in its original case. I've found very little info about these online. Anybody know when they were made and how many? The magazine says SA 38S NM. Did they supply 38 Super mags with these or is it missing the correct magazine? Looks like Colt marked theirs 9x23 but it sounds to me like they're the same magazine.

Seems to be a rare piece, anybody know the value? Looks like I'm going to need to load my own ammo if I want to shoot it.
