Let's see your LE trade-in pistols

Here are mine...two Germans and an American. From top to bottom in my picture:

Top Right: S&W 4006TSW - California Highway Patrol
Center Left: Sig P6 - North Rhine-Westphalia Police (grips on this one are not original, but rather are Ash Wood grips from MarschalGrips in Hungary)
Bottom Right: Walther/Manurhin P4 - West Berlin Police

All fairly unique guns - the CHP 4006s were just for CHP, the P6s were a Sig P225 variant only used by West German Police, and the Manuhrin made P4s only ever saw service in West Berlin as far as I know. These firearms are each a piece of history IMO. What ex-LE pistols do you all have?

Very cool. Is it .38 only or can it run .357 Magnum as well?

38 special only. Strange history where departments didn't want .357 in a service revolver so S&W created the 68.

The Smith & Wesson Model 68 is a "missing link" in revolver history. Read Mike Wood's detailed account of this nearly-forgotten police sidearm.

Interesting. Never knew about the 68 until now.

Very cool! Here?€™s my 1953 High Power from the North Rhine-Westphalia Police:

An Italian Police Beretta M1951 from 1961:

And a P225 from Swiss Police with Montage Suisse rollmark, heel release, and Zurich Canton flag on left side from 1985:

I?€™d like to get a P6, I missed the boat when the first hit the market. They are getting too pricey for me anymore.

              Nice collection MattB!

I have a 4006 TSW and a 659 that was used in Vermont. Both pretty good guns. The 659 has a much better trigger than the 4006 TSW though.

Yeah, I grabbed a P6 when the first batch came in. $340 out the door.

With the talk about the Smiths, I had to get this out. Not a trade in per se, but purchased from a retired LEO locally.

I actually bought this old S&W 59 twice. It was my introduction to DA/SA guns and I was not initially enamored with it and I traded it tor a SP01. Liking that less, I traded it for a MkIII Hi Power. Eventually my friend told me he was going to sell the 59, so I bought it back from him. I wound up replacing all the springs, firing pin, and small parts and it is now a keeper.
