Don’t sweat it Mr Blue, he’s just butthurt because I didn’t fawn over his lack of imagination.

He is right though, I don’t know a whole lot about those Tanfoglios as they are totally uninteresting to me. As far as I can tell they look like just another CZ clone. Maybe they aren’t, but either way I don’t particularly care. Perhaps if there were different grips on one or two of them I might have looked closer.....but probably not. Not because they are bad guns, I am sure they are splendid in all respects, but rather because I am far more interested in older firearms with a bit of history over any new commercial variety.

Perhaps if he wanted to talk about Lugers, pre war military Colts or early Smith & Wesson revolvers we could have a meaningful discussion......

      Butthurt? Nah brah.

I am not the one crapping on other people's threads. I didn't realize that asking if people preferred brass or black was so controversial. I guess that is too much for "imaginative" people to handle.

Perhaps, one day I may show off a good portion of my collection, but quite a few of them are being worked on ATM. I prefer owning guns that don't normally exist in the wild or in our case, behind the iron curtain.

Yes, if I cared about old guns (which I imagine is interesting to some folks) that I would never use, perhaps we could have a meaningful discussion.

Wasn't really trying to wreck your thread, just thought I'd point out my observations. Honestly, I have been doing this for a long time and I learned a long time ago that if you don't want to hear someone else's opinion you should avoid posting.

I have shot the vast majority of my stuff except for those that are just too valuable to risk breaking a matching numbered part. But then I have never been one of those that thinks that I can't own something unless it is going to be useful as a tool.

The way I look at it is; Do you have pictures on your wall? Is your home barren of anything that isn't a tool? I'll bet not. In many ways I view older/historical guns as a form of art that I get far more enjoyment out of than a statue or a painting, hence my interest in owning and preserving them for future generations, unless of course, Bite Me! and his Dumbocrap hive dwellers get their way.

I enjoy my firearms for both for their mechanical nature as well as the history they represent. Modern guns certainly have the mechanical part covered, but they have zero interesting history. They are nothing more or less than toys that we buy because we like them. I am definitely not denigrating your choices in guns, at the end of the day you have to do what pleases you and nobody else.

Now I do admit that from time to time I will buy a new gun if it intrigues me (I recently I picked up one of the new Glock P80 reissues) and I EDC a Glock 19, but by and large new guns aren't my thing. I like variety and as my interests evolve, I wind up with a varied selection of firearms.

I have other handguns, this is just the easiest wall to photograph:

I don't tend to sell anything as I know that while my interest in any particular gun may get sidetracked, I will get back to it eventually.

I know the feeling, but I downsized my collection a long time ago because I prefer having a few pieces that interest me over having boatloads of commonplace/surplus guns cluttering up my already overtaxed woekspace.

I am debating about buying more brass grips and getting them hard chromed to go with some stainless steel magwells that have to be welded onto the frame.

                So many choices...
