Help/Thoughts on my Sig p220

Hi All,

I was cleaning my Sig today and notice what appears to be an anomaly to me. The slide where it houses the spring has this nich in it.

I was wondering if that is normal? Or is it broken?

It has a approx. 500 rnds through it over the years but its pretty much a safe queen.

Any thoughts or advice on this?

I bought it way back in 2010, I believe. I haven't shot it years and just notice that now. Thanks for your input.

my p226 .40 is like that if the photo is accurate. sometimes the angle kinda make it hard to make a positive determination. but if it's what i think it is, then it's normal.

My 220st shows similar wear.
Surprised this thread got little traction. Sent Sig CS a email. Posted on Sig Talk. Will update whats I find.
