    U.S.G.I. - Let's see them

    Let's start a new gallery on this 75th D-Day anniversary.
    For those fortunate enough to be a caretaker and hold a bit of history in their hands, show up with your U.S. Government Issued handguns from any era.

    Former US Property only, no replicas or commemoratives!!

        My father's combat knife. He was in the first wave ashore at Green Beach at the south of France about a month after D-Day. He decorated the handle with red insulated wire and did the same around the periphery of the sheath and held it in place with wrapped copper wire. I guess when you're sitting around waiting to go into battle, you do something to keep yourself occupied and not thinking of what's coming.

            ^^^^ Those 1911s are amazing. I also love that ammo crate, freaking awesome. And too bad we can't own trench knives in CA

            I also just realized tinypic is finally toast. I will have to go back and fix hundreds of posts here, just started with this one - ugh....

                  This my 1918 Remington UMC, other then having later bakealite grips put on when it was rearsanal it’s all original I shoot it occasionally

                      I got this one from CMP. Skyhawk, you helped me identify it to be a 1918 pre-A1 Colt frame with a Rem Rand slide. Here it is next to my 1918 DWM P08.
