Springfield EMP is this normal (video)

So I just picked up an EMP 9 today and the slide does not move forward into battery easily. It catches up on a hard stop and requires a good amount of effort to break free.

The gentleman at the shop assured me that the gun is just prone to limp wristing and that it's not something I should worry about as long as it's being sent home with force it shouldn't be an issue. I haven't shot it yet but it appears abnormal to me like the fitment is not right.

    Video:

None of the other emps I have handled catches like this on the slide.

Does anyone know what's causing this and if it's something that should go back?

Before endless speculation, oil the gun and take it to the range with at least two types of good factory ammo---shoot a couple hundred rounds and report back...

I say if the slide is able to slingshot closed into battery from a fully open position, then what he ^ said. Might just need to be broken in.

If not, then call Springfield and have them look at it.
