HK P7 PSP OD - Need advice on selling

Please delete - I have an HK P7 PSP in beautiful shape that I am considering selling but need some advice. It is factory OD color (which seems rare) and I have never shot it. The gentleman I bought it from said he was the original owner and said he had never shot it either. Serial number is in the 102xx range.

I have attached some images and am planning to take more detailed photos if they are needed. What do you think, do I need more detailed photos? I am also taking some pictures of the barrel bore to show how new it looks. I have a scope that I can use to take shots from inside the bore but don't know if they are necessary.

The only marks seem to be on the squeeze cocker where it has obviously been squeezed but you should see in the photos that it is very minimal. Any suggestions on what you would ask for if this was your California gun and you were selling? Thank you in advance for any constructive help.

In all honesty, they go for a pretty penny outside of California and even more within the state. I am not sure about the OD color, I have never seen one that color before but doesn't mean much as I am not an expert on the P7.

the gentleman that sold you this wasn't very honest...that OD finish is not original. as far as pricing I'd say $1,500 or you can probably even go up to $2K since you're in california but because of the finish the value will go down.

I just heard back from HK and you are correct, the finish is not original. Despite the tag, the HK customer service representative emailed me "we did not produce the P7 in any colors".

No colors other than black and a nickel plating IIRC. Could be they did some OD. It would require further checking. Have you tried an HK forum?

I'd also be dubious about the "never been shot" as well. Why cerakote a pistol that's "never been shot" unless their was surface wear from, at a minimum extensive carry.

The gun also looks like it has holster wear. In the first pic there are signs of wear on the left grip panel. On the slide, by the O and B, on the lower front of the trigger guard, etc.

Remember, you don't buy the story, you buy the gun.

Take clear pics of the gun from various angles. You want folks to see the top, bottom, both sides, etc. and of any flaws. Field strip the piece and show pics of the internals. Especially the slide. No fuzzy pics. Pics of the bore mean nothing to anyone especially if they are fuzzy. Let poeple know you have the original box, papers, etc. and have a pic of those (as you do).

Price it over a grand. Place it in the classified in this forum.

The fact that it was refinished definitely hurts the value. Also, it doesn't look like it's in unfired condition. One additional check you should make is to look at the gas piston as its condition can be very telling. Notwithstanding the aforementioned, the demand for P7s is pretty good so you won't have any problem unloading it.
