    My Grandfather's Smith & Wesson Model 36

I got this after my grandfather passed in 1995:

He carried it for about a decade as an FBI SA. He joined in 1933 as a clerical assistant and became a special agent in 1939. He was assigned to field offices in Detroit, Boston, New York, Seattle and Chicago. He retired in 1962, just a few years before I was born. I got it complete with basketweave-style holster and leather ammo carrier. There's some pitting and finish wear, but I'll never part with it. Serial number dates it as made in 1952. I shoot it on occasion and look forward to passing it on at a later date.

    That's a great family heirloom.
    If only it could talk.

Yeah, he spent a bit of the 1940s in New York City hunting down Nazi spies. The movie The House on 92nd Street was loosely based on some of the stuff he worked on.

If this gun could talk, yeah... would be nice.

My father was also an FBI SA and SAC and retired in 1994. My sister has his sidearm. Also a Model 36.
