M&P 9mm - feels like an egg - help!

Hi All,

I have been debating selling/trading my 9mm M&P for some time now and wanted to ask y'all of you had any suggestions before I make a final decision.

Originally I picked it up because I really liked the feel/ergos, but after putting a couple hundred rounds downrange, I find myself avoiding it because it feels like an egg.

To me, the front strap is just too narrow and, as a result, I do not use it and it sits there.

Not wanting to give up on it, I thought I would ask if anyone had any clever ways of widening the front strap.

Any suggestions?

Just what I was thinking. Haha.

I happen to love the grip on my M&P even with my freakishly large hands, the trigger on the other hand is crap. Soon to be replaced with an apex when I have the time to install it.

If you don't like the gun sell it. There's no reason to keep a gun you don't want to shoot. It's not exactly a collectors piece.

Have you changed the grip inserts? Some options for rubber grip wraps out there. If those don't work then you may be best suited to find a platform that fits your hand better

Put some grip tape on the front strap.

That made my LC380 feel better.

Sell it and buy something that feels right to you. Then when it starts to feel like an egg, rinse and repeat.

Uh … get a Glock. Their blocky grips suit some people better.



Or if you prefer the S&W aesthetic and price point, maybe an SD-series pistol would do.

I put Talon grip tape on mine and it made a huge difference to me.

Two strips of grip tape running vertically on the outside of the front strap but none on center. Then put a larger peace covering the whole section. Should de-egg it.
