I've got a Glock 27 and saw a good deal at my LGS for a LoneWolf .40-9mm Conversion barrel. What's kool is these newer produced ones do not have that wolf logo on the top with the conversion number under it which looks cleaner to Me than the earlier ones. Back to my question, do I just slap the barrel in my 27 and put a Glock26 9mm mag in it and it will shoot and function fine? Or do I also need to buy a new guiderod and change anything internal to work right? The guy behind the counter at the shop has the 357 to 9mm conversion barrel in his Glock and said he didn't buy anything other than the barrel and 9mm mags and it's been fine. Just wanted a second opinion, thanks fellas....

Glock 27 / .40 to 9 Conversion Question

That's all I bought for my 23 just the barel and some 19 mags runs flaws."Try not to become a man of success but rather try to become a man of value." -
I've shot over 700 rounds of 9mm through my Glock 27 with a LW 9mm barrel and 9mm mags, with 100% functionality ... which is funny because that's a better number than when I would shoot my G27 with .40 barrel/ammo/mag ... I've had a few (extremely few) malfunctions with those.
Shooting 9mm ammo/barrel will even work using the .40 mags, however, I don't suggest relying on a .40 magazine that for a Duty/Defense pistol.... that's just for fun. One of the things that can go wrong using the .40mag with 9mm ammo is that you can get a double feed... when you fire, you'll see two things flying out the side of the gun, an empty shell to the side, followed by a complete live round going straight up.... guess how I know!! It's rare though.Comment

If u do a357sig barrel u can just use your .40 mags"Try not to become a man of success but rather try to become a man of value."Comment

You should replace the ejector. The 9mm ejector is different than a 40S&W ejector.

Increased chances for a failure to eject.
I'm not sure, but I was told the breech face of a G27 slide will be slightly bigger than a G26, and I don't know how this affects extraction, and if you need to swap to a 9mm extractor as well.
I had a G27 for over 10 years with the old OEM steel non-night sight option. After I ditched .40 a few years ago, I regretted not getting the G26 instead, and pondered doing the .40 to 9mm conversion. But with all the possible reliability issues on a gun which is essentially a self-defense gun (I don't use it for target shooting whatsoever - short of the occasional IWB draw practice), I ended up just buying a G26. Still kept the G27, though.

ive never replaced an ejector, works fine on my g23 with 19 mags, kids went through a couple hundred rounds using it today, switched right over to .40 for another couple hundred rounds
the barrel is no diff, its their blind marked model, theyve had that for a long time
cant say i had the same luck with my 357 barrel/magsLast edited by Tripper; 01-31-2015, 9:08 PM.Comment

I just got a LW 40-9 conversion barrel for my G35. With the G17 mags, the first 300 rounds fed flawlessly.
On the extractor, ejector. spring bearing tip, etc. I did notice some erratic ejection, some brass to the face, etc. I think replacing those bits will likely clean up the ejection pattern, if that matters to you.
Good luck. When asked what qualities he most valued in his generals, Napoleon said, "give me lucky ones."Comment

Drop in and go.
Some are plug n play, some need extras to work. I have run mine with 9mm and 40 mags for about a thousand or so rounds. No jams or failures yet.Comment

I've gone through about 500 rounds using the 40 S&W -> 9mm with the new generation LW conversion barrels each in my Gen3 G23 and G27 without any issues. I will be trying this out in my Gen4 22, 23 and 27 soon, but I expect the same reliability.
I only swapped out the barrel and the magazines. If you look closely, the bore is offset to account for the ejectors. It appears that this should help mitigate failures.Comment

ya , .40 is a lil too snappy in this small of a pistol, that's good to hear I don't need to change much else
