Smith & Wesson 439

I have an old 439 that was my dad's when he died a couple years ago. I finally took it out to the range the other day and the trigger pull is horrible. Does anyone have any thoughts on either:
The Wolff trigger spring kit for this model? I've used Wolff springs on S&W revolvers and they work great, but wonder if anyone has experience with them in semi-auto.
Or would you recommend just going to a gunsmith for a trigger job?

All the Smith autos I have owned have had good to great triggers. No experience with the Wolff springs in the Smiths but, I have used them in some Ruger SA and DA revos and was pleased with the results. You could try them first and see if they get you where you want to be. If not, hit up a reputable smith to finish the job. Good luck, the 439 is a classic gem.
