VP9 for carry

I know there are endless threads about whether the VP9 is better than XYZ gun. The carry gun I've got that compares most closely with the size of a VP9 is my USP40 compact. I understand that these 2 guns are very different, I'm just curious which would tend to carry/conceal better. Any ideas?

I have a VP9 and I don't carry it because I think it's too big but then I also think a Glock 19 is too big. My EDC is a P938 or a Shield.

It's the same size as a G17. I don't carry my G17 because it's too large too comfortably carry IMO.

Get yourself a good AIWB holster. Full size guns are very doable.

The uspc is much easier to conceal. That said, it depends on you. Big fat guys have far less trouble then small skinny guys. Also depends on what you're wearing.

Isn't it a little too big? You may like it the first week but you'll want the smaller and lighter pistol then. Trust me on this, I carried my G19 with 45 rounds on me in 3 mags ( 124gr golden sabers ) and at the end of my day I want to bury this gun in my backyard.

VP9 really wasn't designed as a CCW, but then again we can say that about full size 1911, and all around the world people carry the full size 1911 concealed for decades.

But the only reason for that is because people didn't/don't really have options for a smaller carry weapon. In this day and age, and even with the Cali roster, there are many many other options that will better suit Carry than the VP9.

Hang in there man, the CC floodgates in Cali have opened, starting in Orange County, and it's only a matter of time (IMO) before the old "No Carry" rules are underwater.

The VP 9 is mid way between a G19 and a C17 in size... Very close to the G19. I have a VP9 that I sometimes carry... IWB or OWB depending on what I am wearing. My go to carry gun is a P228. The thought of having a micro guns in a gunfight is not appealing to me.

As long as you wear a cover garment, and a good belt no issues carrying the VP9 in a IWB holster.

I put my VP9 against both my G19 and G17, and it's almost identical to my G17.

These are not huge differences here...there is little more than a half in difference between any of the measurements.
