    P228 conversion question

i've been looking into this and everyone seems to use the 40cal frame to do the conversion for a 9mm 228 and change out the locking block to make it cycle correctly.

but my question is what if you already have a 9mm 229 frame. is it just a simple as putting on the 228 complete slide? or do other things need to be changed out on the frame to make it work?

its my understanding that the original 229 were built off spare 228 frame stock.

also, what about the 229r frames? any help is appreciated.

    thanks

It is mostly a matter of demand.

If you do get one, try the DAK before you change it to DA/SA. You might be surprised by how well it allows you to shoot.

the 9mm P229 and P228 frames are identical. I am talking about the original version, NOT the P229-1. If you have an original 9mm P229 frame, the 228 slide will go right on.

I actually did that on a thread talking about it. No response for a couple of days since I posted in that thread.

I'm a member on sigtalk. It was the first place I tried.

          Thanks
