    Poll: Your Highest Round Count?

What's the highest number of rounds that you've put through one of your pistols?

Post up details on your high round count pistols and any part failures that you've had with that piece. I'm particularly curious if a high round count over a longer period of time has a different effect on weapon durability than what Todd at Pistol Training gets with his endurance tests over the course of a year. If there's no difference, it would seem to indicate that we all spend too much time cleaning our pistols and will never have to worry about shooting out a barrel or cracking a frame.

For most small caliber pistols ... I do not see how anyone can burn out a barrel. I do, however, have seen and experienced rifle barrel erosion. The pressures and temperatures are much higher for rifle than for pistol.

I do believe that all firearms require some type of cleaning from time to time.

II'm approaching 5K through a USP45 and G19 each, but that's not very much in the grand scheme of things. Only "failures" to date were mag springs, which HK replaced free of charge.

My CZ 75B has around 19K rounds through it. Factory ammo, reloads, aluminum cased. Not a single issue I can recall. Had all springs replaced around 10K rounds.

Whoa, you guys were quick with the responses there! I just put the poll up.

I'll start - I'm at 1300 rnds on a P226 (had about 500 rnds from the previous owner), my first pistol and it's been owned almost a year. No failures obviously, just the usual Sig wear marks (smilies and breach wear). Round count has slowed down considerably as I took advantage of SSE last year.

Just over 3,500 rounds through my HK USP 9...not one single malfunction ever.

I also have 15k+ rounds through my Buckmark but I don't really keep track of my rimfire guns.

I've probably shot/spent more money than I'd like to admit.

Range pass + range less than a mile from home + friend who works at said range + being young with a lot of free time and extra money = a lot of wasted money on ammo

I think the first 3 years I had my first Glock 17 I put somewhere around 10k rounds. That was when I only had 3 guns and tons of range time tho. I hardly shoot it or shoot in general now since I've gotten real people bills and work full time.

Heirloom colt gold cup 70 series that my grandpa used for ipsc competitions back in the 90s. I have thrown 500+ out of it, and I have no idea how much he had put down range before my mom gave it to me.

Glock 30. Around 10,000 rounds. Didn't replace any parts just cleaned it and kept it lubed.

Here she is. Still runs and looks like new after 19K rounds.

My Sig P226R has north of 12,000 rounds through it with the only malfunctions being user-induced. I did the 2k round challenge a number of years back (post #9 on the official thread on Pistol-Forums):

Notes: The first 1,200 rounds were shot at Todd Green's Aim Fast, Hit Fast class in Sacramento back in March; the last ~300 were shot during the last two days of a 4-day Front Sight class. Everything in between was normal range use and/or monthly IDPA matches.

                              Photos of inside gun:

Gun is still running like a champ. I think I replaced all the springs when I upgraded to E2 grips, somewhere around the 10-11,000 round mark - im not exactly sure.

We in Bangor, Maine now baby.
