Welcome to the forum Shelli and enjoy your Mosquito. If you haven't already, do a search here as there are a lot of Mosquito postings.
I personally don't own one but I do have a Ruger Mark III 22/45 target pistol which is the only semiautomatic hand gun out of my four that is stored unloaded and uncocked. I keep the other three that are on my CCW permit always in condition one, two in the safe and one by my bed (no children living in our home). To me, it's a matter of personal defensive preference.

Awesome gun! I remember my 1st handgun I bought, I was deciding between the Mosquito and the P22, I went with the P22, but still really liked the Mosquito.
