Corrosive .44 special ammunition?

Just wandering if .44 special ammo was EVER made with corrosive primers?

Well, the russians used to use a lot of american pattern revolvers in .44 Russian, which you can fire out of a .44 special I believe, so as a wild guess I'd say you could perhaps get your hands on some old .44 Russian which was corrosive and inadvertantly run it in your .44 special. That's alot of speculation though.

Yes, it was. The cartridge was developed in 1907 and at that time corrosive primers were loaded into just about everything that shot.

Corrosive primers are pretty much a thing of the past these days and unless you're shooting antique .44 ammo, let's say made before 1950, you don't have anything to worry about.
