    Got calipers and Glock or Springfield XD? Need help.

    Hi folks. I'm going to adapt a Springfield XD or Glock, Burris Fastfire Red Dot mount to another gun.
    If you have one of these guns and a minute to spare. I'd appreciate you whipping a caliper on the slide and telling me how wide the slides are.
    My gun has a .700" rib and I need a mount for a gun with at least that wide flat top slide. Something tells me these both will come in at an inch across the top of the slide, but I'd like to know an exact number before ordering the mount.
    My gun is a GSG 1911 .22.lr 922 model with a flat top ribbed .700" slide . I have a dovetail piece from Burris to fit the Novak dovetail size. Just figure out which upper part of the mount to mate it to.
    The standard 1911 mount fitd a rounded receiver and too narrow to work.
    Thanks in advance.

    Glock small frame (G17 etc) is 1.002" wide. Flat part across the top where the radius edge stops is about 0.700".

    I don't have an XD.

      Thanks. I appreciate it. j Here is a picture of the first of two Springer mounts for Glock that I adapted to a Ruger SR22. Just added a piece to the dovetail to fill it out. Burris is clean on the bottom.

        Note: my calipers are of cheap quality and probable my hands.

        G19 = 1.006"
        XD9 = 0.952"

        GSG922 = 0.683"
