Desert Eagle recently added to CA Roster?

Target Masters has a post claiming that the bronze and polished stainless 44MAG Desert Eagles were just added to the CA roster due to being "like models" with the already approved black version. Any truth to this?

I saw it on the new additions page for the roster.
Funny how now they are accepting "like models" now. I'd like to think they are getting worried.

I saw three desert Eagles in the display case last night at targetmasters and thought they were on consignment. At 1500$ I'll pass on it anyways. They did have a burnt bronze model though that had me take a second look. Sounds like a law suit waiting to happen if they are adding firearms similar to older model since most added nowadays are similar to the Last model.

This is not unusual - DOJ has always allowed different finishes to be added to the roster. Just look at all commemorative Colts with the same model number O1991AR.

However, the specific finish still had to be on the roster if you wanted to purchase it. If it wasn't, your only option was an SSE. It was the manufacturers that wouldn't put different finishes on the roster.
