Glock 42 channel liner question **HELP**

Just stripped my slide for a cerakote job but could not get the plastic firing pin liner out. Cerakoter said he will remove before he coats it but I should order a new one.

    Here is my question.

Does the Glock 42 use a different size than the other models? I can't find any reference that it does?

    Thanks
    -Joey

Yes, no question, get a new channel liner. Removing a channel liner does cause significant damage (the only way I know of is to screw a threaded bolt into the liner and pull it out). A new channel liner is a very low cost item. All Glock pistols use the same one.

Be sure the firing pin channel is clean and dry prior to installing the new liner.

You really don't need to remove the liner. All Cerokote jobs I've seen on Glock slides, the painter just blocked (masked off) the end holes. Who wants Cerokote in the firing pin tunnel? That's dumb. Not me....

However if you must I just bought a tool for this jobl you're welcome to borrow it.

Dual purpose for removing the liner and tapping a new one in.

However, I would rethink the idea of removing it...

I've used a 1/4 inch carriage bolt to remove them.

I've never had anything cerakoted, but maybe the temperature might be problematic??

Remove and replace the channel liner. It's a few dollars and worth the effort.

Glock 42s do not have a channel liner...he was joshing you.

So you are good to go...

Now if your channel liner fell out of your Glock 20 then you might think about a new liner.

So the 42 is the only Glock without a liner?
I googled and can't get an answer.

I checked the regular Armorer's manual as well as the one for the G42, and neither of the exploded diagrams show the firing ping channel liner, so deductive reasoning is out. Unfortunately, the only .380 parts listed on the parts order form are for the G25, and G28, so no help there.

I think the easiest thing would be to take it apart, and look inside with a flashlight to confirm 100%.

You do have one in your G42. I have checked on mine and can see it. I also checked my armorer parts ordering form and it states will fit all gen 3 and gen 4 models. part # 1148. I also have a gen 3 Glock 19 cutaway and can see the channel liner. It is about 1 1/2 inches in length.

I looked with a flashlight and could not see one. It is now back from cerakote and I have put it back together. This maybe has to be a question direct to glock.

Called Glock this morning. The Glock 42 DOES NOT have a channel liner.

I looked at my Glock armorer manual and it shows the G42 with NO sleeve liner.
