Go to http://sigforum.com/, they have a few dealers on there with great prices, but I believe the one I bought from may be going out of business.

Ordering online especially in the bay area in the end is to costly. Most dealers will charge you a arm and leg to receive a handgun. Anywhere from 45-100 bucks before the dros. They can charge anything they want.
Plus add in at least 15-20 for shipping which the seller always makes you eat. Most of the time out of state is usually only 50 bucks or less on the cost of buying from a local ffl.
So factor in all the time and headache, of sending off a payment, buying a gun sight unseen, finding a dealer. Just not worth it unless your getting a deal. At least you save on tax though.
Last time I bought out of state is because I got a USP at almost cost and found a dealer who charged me 25 dollars he was a total flake had to make multiple trips and wait over a month to get my gun never with him again.
But I did save more than 250 bucks but it was a price I couldn't pass on so in the end it was worth it.
The going rate on a Sig 229 NIB no NS in San Jose is about 800-850ish depending on who you go to.Comment

Private Party Transfer is most inexpensive route
Those who made a point about the high cost of shipping to a CA FFL from an out of state dealer have a good argument. By the time the smoke clears from all the fees and costs, it won't be a bargain anymore.
Unless you are absolutely set on a new gun, the least expensive route to acquiring a Sig P229 in CA is to find a slightly used one and do a private party transfer, which costs about $35 and no sales tax. I bought mine that way several years ago, and the gun was $500 before the $35 fee. I often see P229s advertised on this website, as they are a popular gun and widely owned in CA.Comment
