    Long Slide Recoil springs?

Where can i find different rate # recoil spring set for my 6" TM build 1911.
I have a 18# now, and would like to try others,
I have a one pc. guide rod set now (Fusion brand), Is there a way to use 5" springs with a different type guide set?
    Thanks Eric..........

Post pictures of the spring plug back portion focusing inie and the spring your using. I have a feeling they use the same spring due to the spring plug having a recessed area accommodate Govt length recoil springs.

      Your the Man,
You know i never even thought about that, And yes the area in the plug is shallow, I ordered the guide and plug together for a 6" slide, and a 6" inch spring from someone else. that explains why seems like it has a 30# sping. haahaaa. Thanks.

If your plug is set up to use 5" springs and you end up using custom 6" springs then your gun will short stroke due to lack of compression area for the spring.

Buy a recoil spring assortment since the cost is rather low and you'll have the chance to test and run the one that works best. I have a Wilson assortment for my SA longslide since I handload various type of ammo (.45 super conversion).

            this,
Wolff low power spring kit should only cost about 20-30 bucks for a complete set.

I am running an 11pound spring in my long slide and it works quite well running 230 grain+P (218 power factor) which sends my spend cartridges about 4' and to 2 o'clock. Took a bit to convince myself to get down to that low of a spring rate, but the pistol likes what it likes.
Long slides have quite a bit more inertia and use much lower spring tensions as a result (stock 5" runs 16lb from what I recall).
