Have not owned my Shield very long so while at the range with it today I decided to try the safety.
I was aiming at the target and flipped the safety on. Sure enough; couldn't pull the trigger. So I flipped the safety off; still could not pull the trigger. After on and off a few times (keeping it pointed down range of course) I still could not pull the trigger. I ended up having to rack the slide and eject a bullet before I could fire it. I didn't mess around with the safety any more and it performed perfectly.
When I got home I searched through the manual for a clue as to why I could not fire it after taking the safety off. I found nothing.
I am sort of new to hand guns so did I mess up or not understand how the safety works? Thanks for your help.
