Yet another 80% AR Pistol Build

So started reading up on the polymer lowers since it looked like an easy way to make your own lower at home

Heard a advertisement for a site saw they had a complete pistol kit for $650
with polymer lower, jig and drill bits
Now doing a quick search on parts it looked like it was a decent deal, since I would be getting everything but mags and sights all at the same time
    one stop shopping

Depending on how easy the polymer would be to drill out I would then order an aluminum lower and try my luck on one of those too later

While waiting for my order to come in they had told me the LPK was out of stock and didnt know when they would come back in
I wanted them to go ahead and ship it out since I had been waiting for a while and send the LPK when it shows up

So the day before it was supposed to come in I went to ares armor to pick up a LPK since they are only 5 min away

Never been in there before and my eye instantly went to the aluminum 80% lowers
For $40 I picked one up, and the expensive jig which then made it a very expensive lower

Went to the hardware store and got the right drill bits and decided to go ahead and try milling it at home, I had been watching alot of videos and seemed possible with the setup I had here

3 hrs later it was done
Although it was done on a crappy HF drillpress which was too small, it is possible to do cheaply and I think turned out good

I also do my own powdercoating at home so I did it matte black, but ended up looking like satin, I think the aluminum probably needed more heat I almost tripled the bake time just to get it to turn out satin
Since the upper is a really dull matte black usually my powder coat would be that exact color but it didnt turn out that way, matches the carry handle sight and buffer tube so im happy with how it turned out

Everything fit fine, but the roll pins were very hard to do
and I hate the safety lever, doesnt really click lock and moves a little past fire
so I will swap that out I want one that really locks hard

How much money did you set aside for your legal defense?

            Why would he need to?

            1) He could have made this before the first

            2) He manufactured a single shot rifle, not a semi auto which he then converted it to single shot

Suppose a person wasn't trying to attack another member, but warn him that what he was doing might get him in trouble. What would that look like to you?

Maybe like "hey bro you this is why you're wrong, delete this"

Not some snarky comment about legal fees without anything to back it up

How would he prove that if its not registered? I swear the guys who cry the most about people calling out legally gray things on calguns will be the first to cry blubbering to CGF about free lawyer fees, bail, and legal defense when they get pinched by law enforcement.

The worst part about this thread is the OP has basically hung his *** out so if he does get pinched, there's plenty of evidence of his intent right here for any DA to check out.

First rule of fight club, don't talk about it. Dang man it's the first rule!

Maybe OP can clear this up for us, to end the arguing...

You made it a single shot first right?
                              Maybe last year?
You always have a bullet button on it while in california?
You only use 10 round mags in california?

With a resource like calguns at OP'S disposal, I'm sure he knew and followed all of the rules.

And most importantly - nice work, it looks great. How about a range report?
