XDM Trigger: Will a PRP Drop-in = PPQ bliss?

So I got a 5 inch PPQ in a trade and now it has me wanting to improve the trigger in my XDM 5.25 bitone....I may just send off to SA and have the custom shop clean it up for me but there is a lot of online support for the Drop In kit by Powder River Precision.
PRP Drop in is $125, SA Custom Shop is $145 + shipping.

Curious if anyone has any experience with the PRP Drop-in and it's results?

I have tried the prp and Springer precision triggers on the XDm 5.25 and 3.8. I really like the PRP kit. I dont know anyone with the SA trigger kit.

Had a 5.25 w/ the drop-in & LOVED it. Put the same trigger in my 4.5. Still love it. HUGE difference. Reset is like a mouse-click.

Also added the extended mag release, magwell & grip safety. Did all mods myself in a few hours. Good stuff!

SA custom shop does a good job with triggers, but if you want the best possible trigger, (which will leave your PPQ miles behind in the dust), send it to Daniel and have him custom fit an Extreme trigger kit to your XDm.

No striker-fired pistol trigger is as good as what Daniel can do for your XDm, imo. It will make your PPQ feel like an old police revolver.

As for for drop-ins, I've shot a few, and they seemed good, but not as good as mine. It's obv. an unfair comparison -- a drop-in can't be expected to compete with a custom-fit trigger job.

A few extra bucks, yes, but what's 50 bucks (or whatever) more over the life of your pistol? Spend the extra $$ for Daniel's custom work, you'll be very glad you did.

Im very please with the PRP kit I got in my 5.25 9mm. I got the oversized extreme match kit, the titanium striker block, titanium cocked indicator and the SS pins. I polished all the trigger parts before dropping everything in and installed the reduced power springs in. My first shot really surprised me due to the really short trigger pull. I also have the 5.25 in 45 and was able to compare both triggers at the same range trip. I use my 9mm for USPSA and it has become my favorite gun.

I got the same trigger on my XD i love it it nice and smooth and crisp fast reset as well got mines done 2 1/2 years ago

I am happy with my PRP drop in. Yes I think that trigger is better than my PPQ.

The only part I do not install is the lighter striker spring.

Highly recommend the PRP drop in. I put it on my XDM 5.25 and its like night and day vs. the factory trig. I would put it still a hair behind my HK Match Trigger and PPQ trigger - but we're splitting hairs here!

But if it was me (yes, I do own two 5.25s), I'd install a PRP Extreme Trigger Kit in a 9/40 or a PRP Ultimate Match Trigger Kit in a .45 ACP. You'll become intimately familiar with your XDM, and you can adjust the trigger pull weight to your liking.

^^^^ has some nice toys. He let me shot them last year after an IDPA match at Prado.

I put a PRP ultimate match trigger in my 9mm xdm 4.5 It required more fitting than I was expecting, but the result is awesome - better than my PPQ trigger. Next time, I'd send the xdm in and get the extreme trigger installed.

My XD9 had such a smooth trigger I wasn't sure I wanted a Powder River drop in. My XD freak cousin talked me into it and I sure am glad he did. It went from a near perfect trigger to a better than perfect sweetheart of a trigger. Love it.
