Sig MK25 Confusion

Hi All,

While making the loop this morning around the lgs's I came across something I had not seen before and am looking for input.

In my search for a P226, I noticed a new MK25. Interestingly, this MK25 had no UID sticker, the loaded chamber indicator and mag disconnect, old grip and anchor stamp.

Now, not to go into whether or not the MK25 is anything special or just marketing hype - but how on earth can they claim this is an MK25!?!

CA compliant features?
No UID sticker?

Similarly, the lgs across the street had there own MK25 - no lci, no mag disconnect, anchor, old grips and UID sticker and the cost was $150 less than the other "new" CA compliant MK25.

What is going on here?

You can have a MK 25 with no UID sticker and no LCI and Mag disco. Plenty of them in CA.

People sell things for what they would like to get for the property. Whether it sells for that price, up to the buyer.

Edit: here is a pic of my MK 25, no UID (falls off after several cleanings), different grips, No LCI and Mag disco.

Oh, I agree on what you said and on the price - just confused how you can call something the "same handgun as the SEALs" when you slap CA complaint features on it and take off the UID sticker. Is Sig trying to tell me that CA SEALs use CA compliant handguns? Lol.

Been looking to pick up a P226 and unless I go ppt - that MK25 is likely the only option I would go with from a lgs. No lci or mag disconnect, standard grips and fat trigger.

Would like to put an SRT in it and maybe "grippier" grips. How you like your MK25?

Agreed, not the same firearm with the LCI and Mag Disco. CA!

They are 17 round and 20 round magazines. They are called Mec Gar +2 extensions. Funny!

Here is a 18 round flush fitting mag if you like.



Or a 22 rounder if you prefer!

They are P226 Magwell grips. They come standard on the P226 TacOps. Are you sure your name is Sigstroker??

Since you posted on 1/3/2015 I would assume that price is for LEOs only.

Haven't seen the new 2015 gov/le price list from Sig but in 2014 their P226 base model was $714 and the MK25 was $851.

For my post - the two lgs's I was speaking to just differ wildly in price.

Well those Mk25 without the LCI/Mag Disconnect aren't on the roster. However if that FFL is willing to risk selling them then all power to them, I guess. I can't recommend buying it.

Agree - I notice the Only on roster MK is the MK-25-CA...

Now, for a LGS selling a handgun, unless it is consignment then it needs to be on roster as well, correct?

Example above, the LGS can sell that "new" MK-25 as a consignment piece but not as new, non-consignment, correct?

If consignment, does that mean the MK-25 doesn't carry tax? But then you fill out a transfer form not DROS form, right? Cannot remember as it has been a while since I completed a ppt.
