    Safariland 7285 Holster Glock 17 - Issue

Just got a new Glock 17 Gen 4 and picked up a Safariland 7285 holster. My issue is... The front night sight scrapes the inside of the holster very badly. So bad my front sight has black finish rubbed off.

Anyone else have this newer holster and experience scraping issues?

It's called holster wear, invest into another one. =)

Thanks for the reply deer. Having used a duty holster for the last 8 years i realize there will be wear. However I don't think it's normal for the front sight to take plastic off a holster on every draw. Design flaw?

Anyone else using the Safariland 7ts?

my 6360 does the same **** to my m&p. That ALS lock needs to be redesigned or perform better QC

My safarilands never did that with my sigs. Did you loosen the screws after inserting pistol and re-tighten for optimal fitment?

              UTC.

This newer 7000 series can only be tightened. It comes from the factory lose as possible.

My G17 fits a Fobus holster quite well. Maybe the sight was not designed for the holster?

Ditto with 6360 or similar on my Glock. I guess that is a reason to get a metal front site.

I sent them a WTF email but never heard back.

My ALS seems to work fine, but wouldn't want to need to quick draw with it.

ALS lock works with ejection port, IIRC.
Am I a good shot!?!, YEAH I'M A GOOD SHOT!....i just got bad aim

As much as I love the SLS hood, I think I'll go with the Serpa level III.

I use the serpa CQC when I'm wearing 5.11 pants. I guess I'll switch over to the serpa duty for now.

Call Safariland customer service. I had a holster that I bought on Amazon that was sewn on crooked. They did an exchange at their factory (Ontario, CA) no questions asked. I'm sure they will make it right.
