    M&P Shield Stamping??

I recently bought a second Shield and noticed that the stamping on the 2 guns are different. The first shield is the CA compliant version that has nice deep and wide stamping. The second is was purchased via SSE with no thumb safety and has thin shallow stamping. Can anybody tell me why?

They look the same to me except that one looks deeper than the other. It could be just wear and tear on the stamping dies or an adjustment of the machine.

The slides are most likely cast with the "M&P 9 SHIELD" cast in. They just removed more material from the logo side, than the other side. Is the circled S&W also shallow?

Yeah I'm not too stressed about it. Yes all stamping is like that. Light and shallow. The font is slightly different too. I'm prob going to shoot s&w and email. It couldn't hurt.

Yes... Smith and Wesson should be able to tell you why. Otherwise you're just getting opinions.

**** my buddy's D in shield is jacked up from the factory. Missing the top part. Ended up sending it out to get machined and have everything remove. Then only to have it go kaboom 3 weeks later and S&W told him he was beat.
